THE MODEL KIND CALENDAR LAUNCH

Tonight Model Kind launched their first calendar for 2014 at the Sanctum Soho Hotel, in aid of cervical cancer research. 12 beautiful girls, whose faces you may recognise from modelling lingerie's finest, feature in this gorgeous calendar for charity with a twist- none of their photos have been airbrushed or retouched. Erm.Mah.Gad. So as well as raising funds for a bloody good cause, they're also flying the flag for positive body image!

Miss Baking herself- Iskra Lawrence- along with Hannah Shetler and Charlotte Quita Jones banded together to form Model Kind, to help raise funds for cervical cancer research. Being plus size models, I love that they've taken a stand for promoting a positive body image- if I hear or read the word thigh gap ever again, my eyes will roll permanently into the back of my head. 

As an added bonus, I finally got to sample one of Iskra's baked goods. 130 cupcakes were baked for the launch! The roof terrace was dotted with cake stands serving 3 different kinds of cupcakes- vanilla with raspberry cream cheese frosting, chocolate with nutella frosting, and the third one had me at crushed Oreos. With all honesty, they were even better than anything I've ever bought from Hummingbird Bakery. My apologies to anyone I met tonight, greeting you with sticky hands like a toddler.

Each photoshoot was styled to the model's personality. Iskra is Miss September, and yup. That really is her kitchen in the background, where she bakes up a storm! You can buy your calendar from the Model Kind shop and the best part is, 100% of the profit goes towards Cancer Research.  Not bad for £9.99!

Like a good cosmic symbol, I noticed my man Jimi lighting up the hotel lobby...
